1959 Ducati Mototrans Sport 125
Barcelona
Exhibit : Alfons Escola
This model was presented to the public on December 2, 1959 in the Hotel Avenida Palace.
The motorcycle’s engine power was 10 hp and a top speed was 110 km / h. The sales of this model began in 1960.
The motorcycle situation in Spain at the time was divided between the owners of motorcycles Montesa and Bultaco, as well as the owners of some other brands such as Isso, Derbi, Narcla, Mv, Ossa, Peugeot, Guzzi. However, these motorcycle brands were not of a sporty character, but were more utilitarian.
Using for the production of their motorcycles Ducati Mototrans new developments and details: an overhead camshaft, carburetors Dell'Orto, the forks of an Italian design based on Llobe Marzocchi, brakes and clutches Grimeca Dream, pistons Tarabusi Borgo, the spark plugs Bosch, accumulators Tudor, aluminum wheels Akront and some other developments, they received a real masterpiece of the 60s production level.
The motorcycle was more expensive compared to its direct competitors, such as Whiplash Bultaco and Montesa Elan 101 and 110, but the ultimate outcome offered such advantages that blurred the difference in price.
