This mythical model Montesa, Impala, was born in 1962 in response to the growing popularity of Bultaco. Its creator Leopold Mila was awarded a gold premium Delta Design Award. The model name is derived from the operation "Impala", during. which a year earlier, the three adventurers, Opiol Regas, Juan "Tei" Elizalde, Enric Vernis and three prototypes of this model Baobab, La Perla and La Lucharnierga, crossed Africa from the south to the north with a view to verify the reliability of the motorcycles.
Even today you can see Impalas circulating daily on the streets of Barcelona.
