1952 Orix 620

Hispanic Juan Ramirez Pompeo was a mechanic and talented designer. In 1950 he competed on his modified Harley-Davidson. While he was attempting to add a turbocharger to the motorcycle engine so he could compete with motorcycles BMW, he had an idea - why not create an engine according to the type of German!

Thus his first 610-cc engine appeared. He equipped with this motor not a bike, as previously planned, but a car. He received the name Orix (not to be confused with the German company Oryx). It was a small two-seater car, on which the designer took part in the competition and immediately finished in sixth place in the overall classification.

12 (according to other sources 14) vehicles with a new rounded body and a 2 + 2 layout were built on the basis of this prototype from 1953 to 1956. They were called 620. The speed of this mite (its length is only 3.3 m) exceeded 100 km / h. All vehicles were made to order and cost from 50 to 60 thousand Pesetas.

One of the model 620 cars in the original preserved state is in the museum Collecio D'automobils Salvador Claret.
