In its day, no sports car is sold in greater numbers. Porsche sells almost 120,000 units, earning the VW-Porsche 914 its nickname of "the Volksporsche." Porsche engineers come up with the concept and implement it as a joint project with Volkswagenwerk AG. The tricky part of the project: the 914 must fit the VW product line - yet be recognizable as a Porsche. The car on display belonged to the former Porsche development chief Horst Marchart.
