1943 Opel Blitz 1700 Feuerwehrwagen

In 1941 the company Adam Opel was requested to create fire engines series based on the Opel Blitz truck. No wonder, they were sure that there would be a lot of fires caused by battle actions.
This item arrived at the fire brigade of the Bleiberger Bergwerks Union mine in the town of Arnoldstein after the war. In 1986 it was substituted with an up-to-date automobile, and that automobile was taken to the Historama museum.
Its peculiarity is its line linking from the water container to the cooling system: if the cooling water was in short supply during driving, it is possible in the position “to add up” to pump water into the engine and avoid “boiling” of the engine during its operation.

Original automobile: Opel Blitz 6700 A
Superstructure: Rosenbauer
Pump: 65000, Rosenbauer
Cistern volume: 1,700 l
Crew: 1 and 5 people
