The L 406 is a representative of the L 319 van series. Introduced in 1965, the van series, an entirely new design in its own right, clearly differed from the trucks for the first time. Through to today, Mercedes-Benz vans conform to this basic concept, which is tailored to the manifold requirements of short-radius distribution.
