Built in Oklahoma City, USA in 1945 as a C-47A for US Army Air Forces, he was first used in rental UK Royal Air Force, as Dakota MK IV with registration KN648.
Became a civilian aircraft in June 1953, registered as G-AMZZ with Aviation Services Ltd.
In the period from August 1953 to March 1954 he flew with Eagle Air Services Ltd, and in March 1954 he joined the Kuwait Airways. In December 1960 he became the first DC3 in Gulf Aviation Ltd, where he had flown on scheduled flights around the Persian Gulf until May 1971, when it was withdrawn from service and used for spare parts in Bahrain.
