1962 K-750
The result of the motorbike stage improvement became a new model К-750 of 1958, a proprietary Kiev design, which was not a copy of the motorcycles Ural, received by virtue of an individual makeover of the М-72, accomplished in Irbit. In consequence two independent manufacturers of heavy bikes of the same class came to hand. To abate the competitiveness, the planning authorities tried to distribute and sell Kiev cycles in the European part of the country and Irbit bikes beyond the Urals.
The engine of the К-750 was fit with renewed cylinder heads: the fin shape changed and the degree of compression grew. The front engine bonnet with a breather got to be another. The piston got two oil scraper rings and the ribs were made on the crankcase for better cooling. The suspension of the rear wheel became a pendulum spring with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers, which the М-72 and its versions lacked. Finally, the К-750 differed from the predecessor with a new bath-tub having a spring (not torsion-bar) wheel suspension and a hydraulic damper.
The motorcycles K-750M were employed in the Honorary Cortege from 1962 till 1973.
