Morris Garages Ltd was the Morris dealer in Oxford and, as well as the firm, was owned by William Morris. They were specialized in manufacturing on request special bodies for Morris cars, especially for the Oxfords and Cowleys. In 1922 Cecil Kimber became general manager of Morris Garages and greatly contributed to the foundation of MG (i.e. Morris Garages) as an independent company, even though in dose cooperation with Moms. The production of the very first MG car can be traced back in 1925. Unfortunately in the 1980s, this glorious marque disappeared, while the MG mark is still used by Rover for their production sports cars. Introduced in 1949, the TD model is the sequel of a series of small sports cars, i.e. the Midgets, that started in 1936 with the TA and ended up in 1955 with the TF. Still inspired by the 1930s sports style with very long wings, small doors and big highlights, the car has a handmade wooden dashboard and other details typical of that period.
