1940 25-Pounder Mark II Field Gun
The gun was in use in mid-1940, and by 1945 more than 12,000 had been produced. lt was one of the most famous artillery pieces of the Second World War and served in every British and Commonwealth theatre. A firing platform was used with this weapon, which permitted a 360° traverse by moving the trail. lt mounted a 87.6-mm gun that provided an effective range up to 12,255m and had an elevation arc from-5° to+40° A small number of these guns were in the hands of the British Forces in Hong Kong between 1945 and 1960.
