This was a twin-engined single seater Grand Prix race car, with one engine at the front and a second behind the driver, linked to a single transmission. Under the auspices of Alfa Romeo, the car was built in Modena by the engineers of the Scuderia Ferrari and driven by Luigi Bazzi. Created for GP races disputed on very fast circuits, the car scored a second placing (driven by Louis Chiron) at the Avus-Rennen GP, with average lap speeds close to 260 Km/h. With Tazio Nuvolari at the wheel, the car set a new world speed record of 321.420 Km/h on 15th June 1935 on a stretch of the Autostrada Firenze-Mare.
