This vehicle is one of the latest developments of the 4CL single-seater, the voiturette which began its career in 1939 when it replaced the 6CM. After adopting a tubular chassis construction, in 1948 a twin supercharger was added for improved performance. Alberto Ascari won the Sanremo Grand Prix with this version in 1 948 (the model is also known as “Sanremo”) and the great Juan Manuel Fangio won his first races in Europe.
