This was the first Maserati model designed for the road. The project was launched in Modena in 1940, development continued during the dark years of the war and it was finally completed in 1947 amidst numerous problems. The bodywork was the work of the great Battista “Pinin” Farina. This exhibit is one of two prototypes and was on display at the 1st Italian Bodywork Exhibition at the Triennale in Milan. Brought back from Argentina a few years ago, it has been recently restored to its original state.
