The 250F is the quintessential single-seater of the 1950s, a perfect combination of aesthetic beauty and mechanical efficiency. Designed by Gioachino Colombo in 1953, it was then reworked from season to season by Giulio Alfieri and Valerio Colotti. Its racing life lasted as long as 2500 cc engines were used in Formula One racing; winner of the first Grand Prix in 1954, it also took part, under private ownership, in the last race in 1960 and became immortal in the hands of Juan Manuel Fangio who won the World Championships in 1954 and 1957. This was the vehicle that allowed Stirling Moss to enter the world of Grand Prix racing.
