1959 Montesa Brio 110

Montesa Honda is the Spanish subsidiary of Honda, which assembles several models of motorcycles, bicycles, and parts at its Barcelona plant. The company exports 75 per cent of its production to Europe.

This model is reported to be especially interesting because it is considered the transitional link between Elan and Impala, the flagship brand series. This is the Elan 110 produced in 1959, the first motorcycle Montesa manufactured following the departure of Francis X Bultó. It keeps the same 125cc engine in distinction from its predecessor, the Dash 91, but the chassis is completely new, highlighting the rear swing with double cushion and clearly more powerful brakes. With this bike came to exceed 110km / h the factory even launched a speed kit to get more out of this great sport. But to compete on circuits with his great rival, the Tralla 101 Bultaco, this Elan 110 a very special version, the 110 S, popularly known as "monotube" to bring one larger diameter exhaust was derived.
