Jordi Tarrés i Sànchez (Rellinars, Vallès Occidental, Sept. 10, 1966), a former Catalan rider trial, the second best in the history of the sport: won 7 world championships (1987, 1989 to 1991 and 1993 to 1995) and 2 Scottish Cup (1988 and 1992), a victory in the Scottish Six Days Trial (1987), 7 wins in the championship Nations with the national team and 9 times champion of Spain.
Thanks to his seven world titles takes the place of the third rider in the history of trial after Dougie Lampkin with twelve titles (7 outdoor and 5 indoors championships) and Toni Bou, who has also twelve titles (6 outdoors and 6 indoors).
At the end of the 1992 season Tarrés broke off the relations with the Beta, and signed a contract with the company d'Andreu Codina Catalan Gas Gas, which at that time just began to appear at the competitions in the trial, thanks to the pioneering work of his coach, Josep Rovira Paxau.
The Company adopted this proposal and Tarrés won his fifth world title in the next 1993 on this motorcycle in spite of all predictions, beginning a series of success for Gas Gas, and in total he became the world champion three times in a row on the motorcycle Gas Gas. Tarrés became the first world champion, who won the title on a motorcycle produced in his country.
