REX was the Catalan brand of auxiliary engines and motorcycles produced by the company MECÁNICAS Rex Construcciones, SA and developed by the automotive engineer Vilfred Ricart in Barcelona in the period between 1953 and 1959.
The founder of the company was Guifré P. Ricart.
The auxiliary engine Rex had a roller to transfer a torque movement to the wheel and was mounted on the rear wheel of a bicycle, scooter or tricycle. The company also produced motorcycles with a frame from sheet metal and suspension on short connecting rods.
