1961 ASA 1100 GT

The main product of the Italian company Autocostruzioni Societa per Azioni (abbreviated ASA) was the model 1100 GT. It was designed by the designer Giotto Bizzarrini of the company Ferrari. But Enzo Ferrari refused to produce these cars under the brand Ferrari, thus the 1100 GT was produced in Italy under the brand ASA.

ASA 1100 GT was presented in 1962, but its production started only 2 years later. Under the hood there was a 1-liter 4-cylinder engine developed by Ferrari's engineers for the project "Ferrarina". The front suspension was set on the double wishbones. The body was made of steel, but the hood and trunk were made of aluminum.

The racing versions of the 1000 GT found a lot of success in the Italian sports championships.
